OUR JOURNEY
Roy's Ride for Research will cover a challenging 2,600 km bike ride from the Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa. The journey will take approximately 30 days, from August 15 to September 15, as Roy rides to raise much-needed funds and awareness for pediatric oncology research.
ABOUT ROY COLLINGWOOD
Hello and thank you for visiting. I’m Roy Collingwood, a passionate cyclist and advocate for children’s health. In August 2026, I will embark on a challenging 2,600 km bike ride from the Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa. This journey will take me approximately 30 days, from August 15 to September 15, as I ride to raise much-needed funds and awareness for pediatric oncology research.
Cycling has been a lifelong passion and an essential part of my story — from childhood adventures in Manitoba to university and work, including years stationed at Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre where I witnessed the incredible work done at the Children’s Hospital. More recently, after moving to Ottawa, I faced the profound loss of a dear friend to bone cancer, which deepened my commitment to this cause. This ride connects my past and present communities while fighting for a future where no child suffers from cancer.
